The Delights of Delicious

Pondering...my Delicious bookmarks! Exploring Delicious was very interesting! There is just so much out there that I didn't know about!! I managed to get an account set up and to bookmark a few websites using the following tags: Birding, BuyBooksMovies, Library, Maps, and Recipes. Wow! It makes the WWW so much smaller. Search results are much more selective, and it's easy to see which sites are the most popular. Now I can just follow the footsteps (or tags) of those who have gone before and follow their trail of tags to discover a whole new world. I think I like exploring!

My favorite feed...

Pondering...my favorite RSS feed. My son, who lives near Little Rock, is married and has three kids. He and his wife have recently become foster parents and now have three more kids--that makes SIX!!!!!! He's not the best at keeping in touch, but his wife is a dedicated blogger!! She does a great job of keeping the world informed about their little family. They are professional photographers, so her blog always includes a lot of current pictures. Now that I have my own blog and know what an RSS feed is and how to set one up, I will not have to keep checking back to see what's current with them. Updates come automatically to MY blog...who knew???

To blog or not to blog...

Pondering...the possibilities of blogging. Sometimes just writing something down makes it seem clearer, especially if you're good at reading between the lines. I plan to use this newly created blog as a personal journal of discovery. Who am I? What makes me happy? What makes me sad? What makes me angry? What makes me afraid? What are my hopes, dreams, and aspirations? In other words...it's all about ME! Oh! I've just made my first discovery...I am a narcissist! I never knew that!

My feelings about films...

Pondering...my favorite movies and what they say about me. Three of my favorite movies are Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Last Castle. All of these are were set in prisons, so go figure. Then, there is Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner, Dances with Wolves with Kevin Costner, and Open Range with Kevin Costner...could it be something about Kevin Costner or is it the wild, wild west factor? In the romance category, two of my favorites are Message in a Bottle (yep, another Kevin Costner!) and The Notebook, but the men die at the end of the story...hummm. Oh, and I really like Jane Eyre...it's great since Mr Rochester is only burned to a crisp and loses his eyesight. My least favorite genre is WAR! I tend to picture family members or myself in the roles of the characters that are being slaughtered on the battlefields...very unsettling. I also just do not like most comedies...they are usually too stupid to be funny!
